You hate John Kerry? You mean, the man who fought for this country, who serves his nation, and who wanted to prevent this nation from the total foriegn policy debacle? Its fair that you disagree with his politics....but please explain what it is about him that you "hate?"
that's not an attack. to say the word I "hate" someone that you don't even know...someone who whether you agree with him or not, is trying to do what HE THINKS is best for the nation... so I don't think that's very "Christian" -- Christians that I know don't "hate" people without any reason.
Hey, hey... calm down everyone. No one's yelling. Katy is only 13 and will gain maturity as she gets older. There were people I hated when I was 13. Not that I encourage hatred, but lecturing does not help Katy.
whoa, relax kid. You go around saying you HATE John Kerry. You should have a reason you can articulate rather than just "hating." Seriously, what did that guy ever do to you?
You can disagree with his politics all you want, but all he's trying to do is what's best for this country.
also, relax. it wasn't yelling, it was simply a comment.
no kidding she's entitled to her opinion...i'm just trying to figure out what exactly it is she hates about a vietnam war veteran, a public servant, and someone who has the best intentions for this nation.
you shouldn't go around hating things when you can't even articulate why.
All those rewards he has earned throughout his life are NOTHING... if he does not have God he and all his earthly rewards are but a wisp in the wind.
Isaiah 64:6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
Titus 3:1-7 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
So you see MG, it does not matter about all those "heroic" things he has done on earth for he is a "walking dead man" without God.
Proverbs 4:14-19 Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. For they cannot sleep till they do evil; they are robbed of slumber till they make someone fall. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.
what are you talking about???! John Kerry is a Catholic - soooo, ummm, i think he has a relationship with God He's been baptized and he takes communion. Soo, WHO ARE YOU to judge his relatinoship with God???
Are you serious??
WHY exactly do you judge others so harshly?
And, by the way defending his nation, and serving his country. that's pretty important and honorable. Have you ever done that?
I still hate him. Nothing any of you have said or can say will make me stop. I have learned, however, not to say what I feel. It'll only bring me trouble.
you still hate him. awesome. that's great. that's sooo mature. congratulations. you've got some serious serious problems. try taking your anger out on someone you know.
MG, I'm not going to question Kerry's spiritual life - that's between him and God - but what I think Jer was trying to get across is that all the "stuff" we humans do -- serving in the military and government, going to church, being baptized, etc -- amounts to nothing. God's not going to ask us for a list of activities when we stand before His judgement throne. The only thing that will matter is if we had a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ, and what we did with that relationship. Did I keep Jesus to myself or did I share Him with others? Did I show his love? Did I serve Him? That's all that matters.
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith -- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 3:7-11)

What are you talking about? Those things aren't important? ONLY Jesus is important?? That is absolutely ridiculous. The "stuff" we do as humans doesn't matter? Are you kidding?? it absolutely matters. you think that God looks on someone who spends life as a nurse or doctor helping people in a hospital as different than someone who is in prison after committing murder? Actions we take absolutely matter in the eyes of God. How can you say they don't?
My point is - going around hating a fellow human being - a human who has made efforts in his life to better his country (even if you disagree with the direction you can't argue that he has made personal choices of public service) is strange.
For you to say that somehow his baptism, and church service and his relationship with God don't matter because he doesn't do....what exactly? What else is that a man like John Kerry is SUPPOSED to do in your eyes, Carey? please explain to me.
MG: Do you think the thief next to jesus on the cross got into Heaven any less than Mother Theresa will? He lived a life of crime and sin. None of that mattered the second he asked Jesus to forgive him. None of it. On the flip side, a person can spend their entire lives doing good, helping old ladies across the street, volunteering at soup kitches, you name it. But if they do not put their faith in Jesus Christ and believe in Him as their Savoir-they'll go to hell anyway. The sad part is that so many people put their faith in works, and not in Jesus.
.."But whoseoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life."
Whosoever. That means anybody. The most vile, disusting rapist all the way to the sweetest, most Godly person you know. Who. So. Ever.
well that is the STUPIDEST thing I have ever heard. To say that what you do on this earth doesn't matter at all as long as you say "I love Jesus" -- that is absolutely absurd.
Why don't all of you start spending a little more time worrying about THIS WORLD and THIS COUNTRY instead of obsessing about what happens in the afterlife.
And further, if the rapists and murderers are automatically let in simply because they say "I blieve in Jesus" -- well, I don't know that I want to spend time in Heaven anyway.

Passion like a thousand suns? *rotfl* I'm not sure why I find that so amusing, but I do.
No, I can't say that there's anyone that I even remotely hate.
Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. (Ephesians 4:26-27)
